I have used various pizzelle irons since the early 1960s. I used to swear by Vitantonio (no longer available) but the Palmer has retired my 5 other V irons (including one from my Grandmother) which is over 60 yrs old.
There is a little more texture than the V iron, but the little clip is a godsend when you are making hundreds at a run around the holidays. I prefer the added texture on the cookie.
I cannot recommend this iron highly enough. Solidly built, and with parts available if anything should break. Try finding that ANYWHERE else !
I have easily put over 80 batches of dough thru this iron in the past 4 years. NO issues whatsoever. I only wish I would have found the iron sooner, but you can bet all of my kids and God willing grandkids will have their own to pass down.

This is not my grandmother's pizzelle iron. I tried repeatedly to get the pizzelles not to stick using shortening, like the directions say. There is no light indicating when the iron is ready (certainly an old technology that could have been included). I can't get the cookies not to stick to the iron. And once they stick, good luck getting the batter out of all those nooks and crannies.

We always used a Villaware iron but when it broke we purchased a model 1000 at Salino's in Reading Pa. It works perfectly, even better even heating of cookies than my old one. Thanks for a great product!!!!

I purchased the Pizzelle Maker (Model 1000) and had it customized. This is such a unique option. I had never tried Palmer before, but had tried other irons made in Italy. I was very pleased that this is such a solid, strong piece of equipment. It heats evenly and is easy to use. Customer service from Ms. Smouse was exceptional. I am very pleased that this product is made in the USA, too. I would definitely recommend this iron. I just might have to purchase another one!

I've been making pizzelles for 50 years starting with my grandmother's long handled on the burner one at a time. Then my mother bought a Palmers in the 1960'a. She is 86 has 2 Palmers and makes 4 pizzelles at a time. I have my Palmer, given to me by Mom and I make them all year round - by demand from my daughters and grandkids. It is the best - if only the name was "PALMERINI"!!!!

The Palmer is the definitive pizzelle iron. You are ill-advised if someone suggests another
manufacturer. My sister gave me mine 1972. The cord did wear out after 20 years, but I did not hesitate to reorder. Our 5 grandkids are now in their 20s, so I have gifted them each one of their own. Now that we live afar, they will joyfully make their own holiday specialty - the pizzelle.

I bought your #1000 pizzelle maker when I found a gluten free recipe to make them. I followed your instructions to heat maker 15 minutes and coat with shortening. They came out so delicious , never stuck to the iron and came out nice and thin and crispy ! Thanks for an awesome pizzelle iron !

My mom has had my grammas iron as long as I can remember!I have my husbands grammas iron and use it every holiday. Best product, lasts forever! I am buying one just to have in case something happens to mine, and to have for my daughter!

It is a tradition in my Italian family that we receive this as a wedding gift from our parents. My mother received a Palmer in 1966 and still uses the same one today. I received mine in 1996 and it is still going strong. I remember Pizzelles as a great Italian tradition during the holidays. My children cannot wait for me to start making them. Palmer is THE ONLY BRAND to buy. I bought a Villaware iron that makes 3 small pizzelles at a time. I hate it! It just sits in the cupboard. Villaware is hard to use and doesn't make perfect Pizzelles like the PALMER!!!
